How you can make a difference
At Community Hospice, we want everyone in our wonderfully diverse community to be able to approach death in the way that suits their values, beliefs and lifestyle. To help maintain a safe, well-presented and efficiently run hospice environment, we rely on the kind help of Estate Volunteers.
If you enjoy practical tasks and want to have a tangible impact on your local hospice, this could be the perfect role for you.
What you will be doing
- Assisting with the delivery of site projects
- Supporting routine and ad-hoc maintenance activities
- Supporting routine health and safety checks
- General site upkeep (e.g.litter picking, tidying outdoor areas, basic grounds maintenance)
- Mowing lawns and maintaining grassed areas
- Supporting contractors on-site (e.g., escorting them or helping access areas)
- Supporting waste management and recycling procedures
Full training will be provided.
What skills and qualities can you bring
- Reliable and practical
- Able to follow instructions and ensure the safety of yourself and others
- Comfortable with occasional lone volunteering
- Respectful and helpful communication skills
- Reasonable level of physical fitness
