We’re hiring: Senior Occupational Therapist – Help people keep doing what matters to them
Would you like to use your occupational therapy skills in a role where each person’s goals shape the care you provide?
We’re looking for a compassionate, motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation & Wellbeing Team. If you enjoy finding practical, creative ways to help people maintain independence, manage change and stay connected to everyday life, we’d love to hear from you.
At Community Hospice, we’re a well-respected local charity providing high-quality care for people living with a terminal illness. Our Rehabilitation & Wellbeing Team helps people live as well as possible, for as long as possible, with a focus on what matters most to each individual.
This is a varied role across our inpatient unit, outpatient services and patients’ homes. You’ll work closely with our physiotherapist, rehabilitation and wellbeing assistants, nurses and wider multidisciplinary team, bringing specialist occupational therapy expertise to people with complex and changing needs.
You’ll support people to maintain daily routines, participate in meaningful activities and manage the impact of their illness. From adapting everyday tasks and arranging equipment to supporting discharge home and working with families and carers, your input will help people retain choice, confidence and independence.
Alongside your clinical work, you’ll guide and support assistants and volunteers, share your knowledge with colleagues and students, and contribute to developing our rehabilitation and wellbeing services.
What we’re offering:
- A rewarding senior clinical role within a supportive and friendly team
- Varied work across inpatient, outpatient and community settings
- Opportunities to shape occupational therapy provision and contribute to service development
- Ongoing training, supervision and professional development
- A service that values creativity, compassion and person-centred rehabilitation
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration and RCOT membership
- Experience of supporting people with complex healthcare or rehabilitation needs
- Confidence in assessing functional needs, planning interventions and managing your own caseload
- A practical, adaptable approach to helping people achieve their goals
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work sensitively with patients, families and carers
- Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and supporting the development of others
- Experience in hospice or palliative care is helpful, but not essential
Sound like a good fit?
We’d love to hear from you. Whether you already work in palliative care or want to bring your experience from another setting, this is an opportunity to make a lasting difference through the everyday things that matter most.
Come and bring your skills to a team where your occupational therapy perspective will be valued.
