We have once again teamed up with local solicitors who are providing their time and expertise free of charge. Appointments are available 17 - 21 March and they tend to fill up really quickly, so early booking is advised. There is no obligation to leave a gift to the hospice in your will – we just think it’s really important that you have one. Having a will makes your wishes clear – and without it, anything you own will be distributed according to inheritance laws, rather than going to the people and charities you intended.
Your family and loved ones must come first. But if you’re able to, leaving a gift in your will to the hospice, no matter how big or small, makes all the difference. Whether it’s 1% of your estate, a cash gift or an item, you can help secure hospice care for generations to come. And that’s an incredibly legacy for the community.
What's included?
Our partner solicitors will be able to offer free standard single or standard mirror wills only. While the majority of people only need a ‘basic’ or ‘standard’ will, if your circumstances are complicated, or you want some specialist advice (e.g. tax advice) this will incur additional charges. The cost of a standard will would be deducted from any cost charged to you.
Initial consultation can be via telephone and in-person signing appointments are offered as part of the scheme.
Participating solicitors may have a limited number of ‘free will week appointments’ which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Appointments must be booked in advance.
Whilst the cost of the will writing will be free, please be aware that the following charges apply:
- £2.84 per client for ID verification; and
- £7 per property for obtaining official copies of the Land Registry title.
