How you can make a difference
Our gardens are perfect for a refreshing break for our patients and visitors. To keep our gardens maintained we rely on the support of our wonderful volunteer gardeners, under guidance of the Head Gardener, for the benefit of all who are present in the hospice and the surrounding wildlife.
What you will be doing
- Assisting with tasks like weeding, planting, pruning, watering, sweeping, general tidying and propagating/dividing
- Broadening your knowledge of plants and how best to use and grow them.
- Learning about ecological gardening and how to increase biodiversity
What skills and qualities can you bring?
- Some gardening knowledge or experience is helpful but not essential
- Ability to use initiative and take directions as part of the gardening team
- Reasonable physical fitness
- Able to work in a variety of weather conditions, within safe limits
