Compassionate Neighbours become friends with those nearing the end of life, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation by providing social and emotional support.

Where you will be based

You will visit someone we think you will get on with, usually in their home. We will always work within your comfort zone for travel, though we generally aim to introduce people in your local community who are within easy walking distance.

The initial training may take place at the Community Hospice site – or in locations throughout the boroughs. We will share upcoming training dates with you. Our informal, supportive get-togethers may be at the Community Hospice or in venues throughout the boroughs – they are a great way to get to know different places.
