Cycling from the UK to Australia in memory of Victoria

In a heartfelt tribute to his late daughter-in-law, Victoria, Luigi has set out on a remarkable challenge to virtually cycle 15,000 kilometres from the UK to Australia, in support of Community Hospice.

Victoria sadly died of cancer in April 2024. During her illness, Community Hospice provided compassionate care and support, giving Victoria and her loved ones precious time together and a sense of peace during her final days.

Now, Luigi is determined to give back. His mission? To pedal the distance to Australia over the course of 2025, raising vital funds to help us continue caring for families facing similar journeys. “This journey is about more than just cycling,” Luigi shared. “It’s about remembering Victoria, reflecting on our time together and supporting the hospice that helped us so much when we needed it most.”

As of May, Luigi has already clocked over 203 hours of cycling time, gained 19,334 metres in elevation, completed 107 rides, and burned over 113,000 calories on both virtual and road rides! He’s cycled the equivalent of a journey from Kent to the Sahara and kept up the challenge even during business trips to South Africa, riding in hotel gyms and along scenic early-morning roads.

Along the way, he’s met fellow cyclists, overcome flat tyres and logged numerous hours, all while raising awareness of hospice care and the impact it can have on families.

“The real work happens in the hospice. Every penny raised helps them continue providing their incredible care. I just hope to do my bit.” Luigi added.

We’re so inspired by Luigi’s dedication, and incredibly grateful he’s chosen to support us in memory of Victoria.
