Helen Rowntree

Helen is Chief Executive of Blood Cancer UK, leading the charity’s work to bring forward the day when no one dies from blood cancer. Appointed CEO in January 2022, she has guided the organisation through a period of significant challenge and growth, increasing investment in world-class research while expanding support for people affected by blood cancer.

Helen joined Blood Cancer UK in 2019, previously leading its research, policy and services teams, with a strong focus on patient support and advocacy, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before moving into the charity sector, she held senior roles in the NHS and commercial sector. Helen lives in Greenwich with her young family
