More about our Open Gardens festival

Be part of something special

We're looking for garden enthusiasts in the Bexley area to showcase their gardens in our Open Gardens Festival 2026.

Over two weekends in June, thousands of gardens across the UK take part in this national event. Here in the boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley many of our wonderful supporters (hosts) will open their gardens to visitors to explore and enjoy the unique, hidden gems in our local area.

Visitors relish the tranquillity and beauty of these hidden oases and it’s a great chance for hosts to share tips that inspire the next generation of keen gardeners, and make connections with other gardening enthusiasts.

Dates: 6 - 7 June and 20 - 21 June 2026.

You can choose to open your garden for one or both weekends, or even for just one day. There’s no minimum commitment.

Open Gardens 2025

In 2025, 44 incredible garden hosts opened their gardens in support of the hospice and raised £32,000 to help us to provide care and support services for the patients and their families cared for by our hospice, who are living with a terminal illness or facing death. Now, we’re sowing the seeds for something even bigger, and we need your help to grow it.

"Being a garden host is my way of contributing to an important cause and helping to ensure that the hospice's care continues to touch lives when it matters most."

Amanda, Open Gardens Festival Host
