Lottery Terms and Conditions

This is a summary of the Lottery terms and conditions. Read the full terms and conditions here, or if you need a large print version, call the Lottery Office on 020 8320 5785.
Definitions: ‘You/your’ refer to the lottery player. ‘We/our/us’ refer to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Lottery Limited.

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Lottery Limited is licensed with the Gambling Commission under the Gambling Act 2005. We are also members of the Hospice Lotteries Association and The Lotteries Council. All profits from our lotteries go directly to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice (Registered Charity 1017406).

Proceeds from Lottery Ltd to the Community Hospice:

All the profit from each lottery draw will go straight to supporting the hospice and helping people living with terminal illnesses make their time count. Only around a third of our funding comes from the NHS – so without support from our community and generous supporters like you, we couldn’t be there for patients, their families, and carers when they need us most. Your support makes a huge difference - thank you!

Over 40p of every lottery £1 is spent directly on our hospice care services, the remainder goes on prize money, administration, and spreading the word about our lottery.  (F/Y 2022-2023 the profit for the year £175,591)

Odds of winning:

Winning a prize in this lottery is determined each week and depends on the eventual number of entries, (the number of entries will change over time). The number of entries entered into the draw on Friday 1st November 2024 was 7,912. This means that for this particular draw, there was a 1 in 360 chance of winning ANY prize.  To encourage a higher Rollover prize, we have a pre-set 6% chance of it being won. However, as the 5-digit numbers are randomly selected, it can still be won any week.  Spring Raffle 2024 was 10,874, which means in this particular draw there was a 1 in 494 chance of winning any prize.

Our Lottery Fundraiser:

We have a team of Lottery Fundraisers working for Community Hospice.  Our lottery fundraisers promoter working for an independent company, fundraising in partnership with Community Hospice to acquire new lottery members. For this promotion, Community Hospice expects to receive £304,667 over the next 3 years for £126,750 this year. By supporting the hospice through our lottery, members provide a secure source of income that enables us to make long-term plans. This type of fundraising is carefully monitored to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money. All fundraisers will have visible photo IDs and branded uniforms, and age verification is checked in person and on the website before the supporter is permitted to gamble.  Should you have any concerns or would like to check their identity, please call on 020 8320 5785 or email our lottery team lottery@gbch.org.uk
