Our gym and rehabilitation

Odds are you have a lot on your mind right now.

You might be worried about losing your independence or not being able to do what you love. Whether it’s a peaceful walk, a gentle stretch or hitting the gym, we know it’s important to keep your identity and take care of your whole self.

At the Community Hospice, our gym and rehabilitation services help you do the things that matter to you, for as long as possible.

What is rehabilitation?

Rehabilitation in palliative care enhances your quality of life by helping you maintain physical and functional independence.

But, it’s not just about lifting weights or intense workouts! Your choices might be very different to someone else’s, so our care is always tailored to your needs.

Whether it's achieving personal goals or reducing distressing symptoms that get in the way of doing what you love, we're here to support you.

There's no pressure, no strict schedule. Just what feels right and keeps you motivated.

Who provides the care?

Rehabilitation is run by Allied Health Professionals, and the team includes an experienced physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech and language therapist.

Whether you’re staying on our Woodlands Ward or visiting the hospice to use the gym, you’re always in the best of hands.

"Our rehabilitation and wellbeing service aims to improve the quality of every day."

Hannah, Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Lead
